Early Dismissal Day and Family Literacy Day!
We started our morning reviewing Figurative Language (practice sheet where students identified various forms of Literary Devices). We reviewed this together, highlighting and labelling the lit. devices in preparation for our quiz tomorrow:) Students are getting good at identifying these!
Several students dressed up in their favourite book characters. We had Curious George and the Man in the Yellow Hat, Where's Waldo?, the Maestro, to name a few.
*QUIZ tomorrow: 40 multiple choice questions about the Literary Devices students have been learning about: simile, metaphor, idiom, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, personification, alliteration
Students are finishing their snow globes for this project. Each snow globe contains six examples of different literary devices. They are looking good!
We also worked on our Interactive Energy posters for science. These will be due by the end of next week; more class time will be given.
The P.A.C.'s free pasta lunch was a wonderful treat. Thank you, parent volunteers!
No math homework today (unless you want to find some worksheets for practice:)
*Don't forget, Mathletics is an excellent way to practice math skills; focus on the lessons for the fractions section.
It was good to meeting with so many parents. I look forward to seeing many more at the student-led conferences tomorrow afternoon.
Remember that tomorrow is another early dismissal day.
