May the Fourth be with you!
We had a very eventful day:
*The math quizzes from yesterday were returned; we reviewed the answers and common errors that some people were making. Students scoring less than 20/28 have the option of rewriting on Monday.
*At 9:05 we went down to the gym where the grade six class gave a presentation about the three main parties running in the Provincial election: Green Party, Liberals, and NDP. They did a super job and gave us a good jumping off place for exploring the issues in our own classroom. (With the art show being our main focus lately, we haven't paid much attention to the issues and candidates running for MLA in our district.)
Then, at 9:15, we dashed outside for the school-wide run. Most students beat their time from Tuesday's run!
After recess, Tina and Mrs. Strange were in while the kids finished up their salmon t-shirts. They took them home to wear to the opening tomorrow night!! 6:00- 9:00 is when the gallery opens its doors. (See poster in yesterday's post here.)
As students finished, they went with Mr. Pfeiffer to P.E. where they practiced hurdles.
After lunch and Agendas, we discussed as a class how we might tackle looking at the issues of the three main political parties mentioned above. Groups were then formed and a few videos watched. We will continue this Monday before we vote so that we can make an educated vote.
No photos today as I have misplaced my phone and camera.
See you at the Art Gallery Opening tomorrow night!!
Remember, no school tomorrow. Dr. Martin Brokenleg is speaking tonight at the Performing Arts Centre 6:00 - 8:00, and tomorrow from 9:00 - 3:00. He is an amazing man with a deep, heartfelt message that is bound to touch all listeners. ps) Take tissues:)
