Another Friday over. The weeks are going quickly now, with little time before our play. At the end of the day, I stacked the kids' tables and chairs, placed 5 out of the 8 banners in front, leaving a large space to set up our 'stage'.
In math today, we reviewed Elapsed Time some more; it's a matter of practice now but there are endless opportunities to practice it throughout one's day. We will have a 'do it by yourself' check-in on Monday.
For science, students worked on a small package about force and motion, introducing some new vocabulary: compression, tension, shear, squeeze, torsion (think contortionist), and internal / external tension.
We will have a short quiz next week on the concepts of force, energy, and work, before getting into Simple Machines. Remember, one can go back and check out the links or go straight to Make Me Genius to re-watch the videos.
Students learned about the Komagata Maru incident; we watched a video and entered notes into our Immigration lapbooks. There are a lot of videos about this situation; this is just a short one.

I am attending a drum making workshop this weekend, so it will be a busy one. I hope that you enjoy yours.
