Good evening, all.
The kids worked hard today, finding tables and chairs or floor space on which to do their work! The rest of the set & props are now painted so it's just some small stuff and COSTUMES! Please bring in or know what you will be wearing. I will need to see the costumes Monday when we go to the performing arts centre at RSS.
First thing this morning, we did a whole-class survey about Exploration Friday. The kids had good input and ideas for next year; we'll see what comes to fruition. Tomorrow is the last session for the year:)
We completed the time line in the Immigration lap book today, and any missing information so all should be ready for the open book quiz tomorrow. Students also worked on a 'cloze' assignment about "Enemy Aliens". This is HOMEWORK if not completed today and needs to be handed in tomorrow, along with the lap books.
Ms. Kretchmer took the students to PE today for my prep.
This afternoon, their Simple and Compound Machines quiz was returned! Most students demonstrated their learning quite well. We also read Henry's Freedom Box about a young slave who, after his family is sold and sent away, mails himself to a safe place away from slavery. It is based on the true story about Henry "Box" Brown.
The only photo I have today is of some kids (and Tina) wishing me "Un Happy Birthday" from the door of the staffroom. :)
REMINDERS: Please let us know how many tickets you want for Thursday's performance!!
