Mr. Redding took the kids to Music for the first half an hour; they worked on their song for the play.
Upon their return we started Unit 3 of Greek & Latin Roots, doing the first page of the package and the individual vocabulary cards together. This package will be due Wednesday.
After recess was Math. We did a one-minute drill and graphed its results. Next, the kids worked on another practice sheet for representing numbers in standard and expanded forms from written words. I pulled kids from the class to test their reading of numbers while they worked on their worksheets.
During gym we took a break from basketball and played 'Benchball'.
Back in class we began our Immigration Projects before the grade fours had to leave with Mr. Pfeiffer for the FSAs. [see photos below] We had posters, iMovie, and an audio recording of an interview / poster combination. I can hardly wait to see the rest of them! *Reece was first but I don't have her picture yet.
We ended our day with book exchange and a chance to finish up assignments. Anything not completed is homework for tomorrow.
REMINDERS:
1) Halloween candy data is needed for tomorrow.
2) Immigration projects are now past due, unless you have talked to me about it.
3) Students need to bring a tallish jar if they want to make Rock Candy.
4) Students need to bring a can for their Ugly Sticks.
*TOMORROW AND WEDNESDAY ARE EARLY DISMISSAL DAYS (12:30). Bring an extra large snack for these two days:)
