Happy first snowfall, folks!  It sure is pretty and the kids sure are excited, not that Halloween wasn't enough!

Please ensure that your child comes to school with appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear.  The afternoon can be long if you're sitting around in wet clothing / shoes.

We started our day with Agendas, then finished some notes about Recognizing Place Value and Value in our Math Interactive notebooks.

Next, students finished up "Halloween Leftovers", a comprehension assignment from yesterday.  When done, they went to the computer lab to finish their Inspiration web from Library.  Finally, when all of that was done, saved and printed off, students were allowed to go onto Mathletics for a short while.  This didn't go so well for some students so we ended up silent reading for the last 10-15 minutes before recess.

After recess we continued working on the Art Cards.  Students also worked on their science Matter crossword puzzle and French Halloween puzzles while waiting for paint or my assistance.  Many thanks (as always) to Mrs. Campbell for helping kids refocus and get caught up with assignments!

After lunch, we worked on the puzzles a bit more before heading to PE at 1:00, when we played a full court basketball game.

We finished our day with Career Education: discussing its focus and purpose.  I read part of Michelle Garcia Winner and Pamela Crooke's book You are a Social Detective  about social thinking.  We set up duotangs for this and started to write about our 'school smarts'.  We will hopefully continue this tomorrow.

Enjoy your evening.  Don't forget to read the notice that I sent home about early dismissal days next week.  The letter itself is also posted previous to this blog entry.

Also, the Immigration Projects are due Monday!  Presentations will begin!!
