After Agendas first thing, the students were introduced to Layered Curriculum. I have sent a letter home describing this curriculum delivery program. I also read the letter with the kids and explained further what it is, especially the concept of higher level thinking. Tomorrow we will start a class novel study using Layered Curriculum to guide / drive our learning. A projects descriptions and recording sheet will be sent home tomorrow. *I will post a copy of the letter on a separate blog entry to keep it all together.
The kids were good listeners during the above so we headed to PE as early as possible, and played soccer skittles.
After recess, I returned two quizzes: the French Halloween vocabulary (/22) and the Math Place Value et al (/25). We discussed the math quite a bit; I have assigned mandatory rewrites for some and optional for any one else who wishes to improve their demonstration of understanding.
**The rewrite will take place Friday!
We also had just a few minutes to have an introductory look at numbers 11-20 en Français!
After lunch we chose Canadian animals for an art project. Students found images on the computer to use for guidance. We are adding Zentangle designs to them, and will be sponging habitat background for the end product. The photos are just some of the finished Zentangles; more work before the finished copies.

We also started to put up our ancestors' flags on the map on our bulletin board.
