Wednesday, February 3, 2021

 Greetings, one and all.

Sorry, no photos today.  Wednesday is my half day with the students; they go to culture for most of the afternoon with Isaiah and Ema.  This is what we got up to the rest of the time:

We started revisiting Alliteration and finishing up our snow globes for this literary device.  Tomorrow, students will be introduced to our second last device.  Check back:)

We also read more of IQBAL, a novel I am reading aloud after lunch.  We fit in a chapter at the end of the day, too!  The kids are loving this story and, most importantly, feeling the unfairness and cruelty of the situation.  We're hoping that Iqbal escapes for good this time! (That's where we left off.)

In Math, students were introduced to the SI Notation of the date.  That stands for Standard International Notation.  Instead of writing February 3, 2021, in SI notation we would write 2021-02-03.  We will continue to practice this over the course of the next several months. The important thing to know here is the number that corresponds with the months (knowing the order of the months).

We also continued with elapsed time using a worksheet and our daily schedule time sheet.

That was our day. Thanks for checking in.
