Hello everyone! My apologies for this being my first entry of the year. As you know, I went home Wednesday afternoon and was away Thursday. Today I was back for our first full day together, however.
I hope that everyone had a chance to read my letter to parents, and that you will be able to attend our evening meeting on Monday at 6:30. The reason for this early meeting is to talk about the overnight field trip (What am I thinking?) September 23 -24th. It doesn't give us much time together prior to the trip but most of these students have been together as a class before; I have no doubt that all will go smoothly.
If you think that you may be able to attend as a chaperone (I need a male and a female), please let me know Monday evening.
Today we had our first Book Exchange with Ms. Astra in the library. The students also had their first music class with Mr. Rogers, and are learning how to play the ukelele!! What fun!
In Language Arts, students wrote a "If I Were..." activity, then started typing it up during Computers.
We also worked on collages today, creating personal folders for future projects.
All in all, it was a busy but fun day. I am enjoying getting to know your children.
