It's a late post but better than never!
It was a very busy day, ending with the sudden knowledge that it was Oliver's last day with us. He is moving to Salmon Arm this weekend:( We wish him the best of luck at his new school, the same school that Tayven now attends!
Similes - Students were to have completed this package for today but, as several had not, I decided to mark it tomorrow instead. Please support your child in his/her homework responsibilities; this is imperative for success.
D.A.R.E. - Cst. Sharp came in this morning for Lesson #2 about Tobacco and Alcohol. We will continue to learn about the effects of these products on our bodies as we study the Human Body in science this year.
I took a photo of some of our notes on the board:
Beyond Recycling - After lunch, Mrs. Vickers came in for our second lesson of this Wildsight program: Garbology 101. Students weighed and sorted the contents of our class' garbage cans, and explored ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Students also came up with more R words:
Rethink
Refuse
Responsible
Rebuild
(and maybe another that I can't remember right now!)
Social Studies - As promised, there will be a short government quiz tomorrow. We will review for a bit prior to writing the quiz.
