Another busy day: productive but noisy!
Math - We marked our Equivalent Fractions w/sheets from yesterday. Two pages were assigned today from a new 'Equivalent Fractions and Ordering Fractions' pkg (pp.46-7).
*If you are helping, the main rules to remember when comparing fractions is that their denominators (bottom) must be the same.
*When changing fractions, "Whatever you do to the bottom, you must do to the top" (and vice versa).
Remember, you can watch the math antics videos linked to this blog, or search for others that demonstrate these skills. Youtube has millions!! (hyperbole:)
Science - We watched the second video again, stopping to take notes. Today's focus: Potential and Kinetic Energy. *This video is linked to this blog.
Art / Socials - Then we took a brief look at the Boreal Forest world wide, with a focus on the portion within Canada. We will be studying this further later. For now, students chose an animal from the Boreal Forest, printed off an image template, then completed a Zentangle fill-in for art. They are starting to look really good.
