Good day, one and all.

Today was a very productive day, I believe.  This morning, the students read The Simple Physics of Soccer, and answered various questions.  Many submitted it today for marking; it is due for those who needed more time.

After badminton during P.E., we returned to the class and looked at an example of a D.A.R.E. essay. We also revisited the expectations, clarifying the paragraph format.

After recess the students had a chance to get into the computer lab to continue typing their D.A.R.E. essays.  Several opted to also work on their Interactive poster which is due tomorrow.
*The D.A.R.E. essays are due Tuesday, and the grad celebration on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 6:30.

After lunch we marked our math (Converting improper fractions and mixed numbers A); most students are doing really well with this.  I assigned the first two columns of a similar activity (B this time) for tomorrow.  We can mark these before writing the short quiz addressing this concept.

Following math, I returned the Literary Devices Quiz today.  We went over it together so that students know the 'what' and 'why' of each of them! Remember, if you initial your child's quiz, it's worth a bonus point:)

We ended our day with a look at Les Couleurs en Francais. Students were given a vocabulary sheet, and two activity sheets to complete for Wednesday.  We also discussed the two spellings for some of the colours, to be used with masculine or feminine nouns.
For example: a blue pen (m) is un stylo bleu, but a blue chair (f) is une chaise bleue.

Have a good evening!
