Spring Break Friday!

We did manage to get some school work done today.... math, much to the delight of the children:)
While it is still fresh, we reviewed the metric system and converting using the sentence: King henry died by drinking chocolate milk.  We marked Wednesday's worksheet, and I assigned a new one converting g and kg, and mm, cm, m, and km.  Doing a couple of conversions a day will help keep the metric system in their memory.

First thing this morning, the big buddies read instructions to their little buddies in a directed drawing activity.  The finished product: a leprechaun!

We didn't get to finish the Hard & Fast Rules open book quiz, so will continue this when we get back.

The Simple and Compound Machines Quiz was returned; everyone passed and did very well, actually!!    We will start with a fresh science unit in April.

Reminders: The Mining Project is due the week we return.  Please, this does not need to be a huge, complicated project.  It is intended to add to our knowledge about the types of mines that exist or have existed in Canada.

A sad good-bye to Shay (who is heading off to Prince George), and Max (who is heading off to Big White and then Panama before other countries and continents)!  Best of luck to both of them:)

Enjoy your Spring Break everyone!
