Friday, March 4, 2016

This is some of our Friday, although not in any particular order.

Mrs. O'Neil, the new Aboriginal Education Support Worker, came into our class to read a book about connecting with natural resources.  She discussed several aspects of aboriginal culture with the students.

Math - We watched a couple of Math Antics videos today: The first one, to review the steps of multi-digit multiplication (5 X 365); the second to watch the steps of multi-digit by multi-digit multiplication (12 X 387).  For the latter, we watched a step by step video as we did the steps on our own worksheets.
The kids were assigned the front page (six questions) of their booklet.
The videos are on the MathAntics website linked to this video.

Science - Simple Machines - The students have been given a lot of time to complete the simple machines EdHeads and Compound Machines assignments.  These are now overdue and must be submitted promptly.

Language Arts - We marked / reviewed the Hard & Fast Rules for Quotations (from yesterday) and took notes about writing Numbers. A worksheet was assigned for Monday.

Special Event on Monday - We will be going to BVE for the District Spelling Bee Monday morning via bus.  We should be back by recess time.

Have a good weekend!
