Oops... I'm behind already!
We are still working out our schedule and daily routines, but here is how our day looked:
Mr. Borthwick, the school district's counsellor, introduced himself to our class and described what he does. He calls himself "the unstucker"; he helps people work through challenges, teaching / suggesting strategies to help get through difficult times. He also talked about confidentiality.
In French, the students learned how to play 'Debout les 7' while reinforcing their numbers 1-10.
In math, we practiced finding the digital roots of numbers, then played the game "Capturing the Digital Root". Ask your child about digital roots, and check out their worksheet & game in their Working Binder.
To find the digital root of 86, add 8 + 6 = 14. Now add 1 + 4 = 5. The digital root of 86 is 5.
We started a 3-D Name project in art, and will continue this next week.
Lastly, I handed out some Scholastic book orders; they are due September 20th.
