Happy Muffin Monday!  Thanks for Stacey for providing delicious muffins for our class today:) They were very much appreciated.

First thing this morning, students filed any loose papers into their Working Binder, behind the appropriate tabs.  Next, they were off to do some typing using the program Master Key.

At 9:00, we headed into the library with Mrs. Tomm and did some activities relating to finding the main idea.  Students added notes to their LA Interactive Notebook, including a visual web related to the short article (see photo).  Students then practiced identifying the main ideas from a variety of short readings.  While this may not be terribly exciting for some kids, it is a really important skill to develop and is vital to future success with research projects.

After recess, the students filled in their Agendas and had some time for silent reading.  Several students still have difficulty with settling down with a book; we will continue working on this.
Mr. Redding took the kids to music before lunch.

Lunch , then math: After marking / reviewing pages 30-35, the ppl 36-37 were assigned (Comparing and Ordering Numbers); the following assignment we will complete tomorrow.

*We will be having a quiz about Representing Numbers 5 Different Ways on Wednesday!
