Summary of the main functions of the liver in mammals:

- Bile production and excretion
- Excretion of bilirubin, cholesterol, hormones, and drugs
- Metabolism of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates
- Enzyme activation
- Storage of glycogen, vitamins, and minerals

- Synthesis of plasma proteins, such as albumin, and clotting factors

*The kids poked around in the massive cow liver, touching the lobes, vein and artery holes, and gall bladder.

**I guess I didn't get pictures of the liver.  Sorry.
