Happy First Day of May! Thanks Autumn's mom for bring us muffins from Tim Horton's this morning... that was a very nice treat.
To start our day, I finished reading The Prince and the Salmon People, the book on which one of our skits is based.
Then we had a math drill and went over our worksheet from last week. We reviewed how to find the GCF (Greatest Common Factor) and the LCM (Least Common Multiple) of two numbers using their prime factors. The kids worked on the following numbers as their assignment for tomorrow:
List all the factors: 27 36 21 35
Prime factors (trees): 18 32 46 72
GCF: (28, 35) (27, 63) (12, 72)
LCM: (17, 51) (24, 60) (9, 27)
SWIMMING STARTS WEDNESDAY MAY 3rd! Come prepared with swimsuit and towel.
Several students finished up their poems so that I could mount them for display. I took most over to the visual arts centre (Public Art Gallery) for the show opening this Friday! It is looking fantastic! I will send a letter home tomorrow ... please set this evening aside. You will be amazed at the whole class display, even though you have seen it in pieces. The rest of the gallery is looking incredible, as well.
RED SKY PRODUCTION - We went to BVE this afternoon for a presentation! It was incredibly well done. Check out this link to their site and an explanation of the show we saw today:
