Here's our day... it was a busy one:

Mr. Redding took the kids to music first thing.  Check out his and Mrs. Strange's bulletin board outside the music room!  It's fantastic!  Mrs. Strange created that using her extreme talent and pastels.

In Language Arts we reviewed the Greek and Latin Roots and related words.  There will be a quiz on these on Friday.  As I explained to the kids, these are intended not only to improve word awareness (and therefore spelling), but to expand their vocabulary.  Can they fit these words into a sentence?

We also discussed the Most Magnificent Thing box project, some actually developing their plan and materials list.  Please have a concrete plan and bring in supplies for Wednesday so that we can get started!

In math, we started with drills that involved adding to nine.  Then the students worked on column addition, looking to make tens and friendly numbers.

We read and highlighted important information in Intro to Canada - a brief history during social studies.

Lastly, we played Bench Ball in P.E., and had Book Exchange last thing in the day.

Oh, and we watched a short video interview with Michael Bartolotto, the motivational speaker to whom we will be listening tomorrow afternoon at RSS.
