Good day, everyone. I was away yesterday (Thursday) so didn't post about our day, but here's what our Friday looked like:
At Assembly, Mrs. Tomm read The Most Magnificent Thing and discussed the box project. Your child needs to bring in a box and any extras they may need to create their most magnificent thing!
On Monday, we will begin planning, then take some time throughout the week to work / make alterations on our projects. On Friday, September 29th, the plan is to walk around the school to each of the classrooms to see what each student came up with. Remember to "think outside the box"!
In French, we reviewed and practiced reading the l'alphabet et les nombres 1-10 in preparation for presentations next week. Students will say Il y a .... # letter as they read through their booklets.
*These should booklets should have been completed by now and ready to go.
In math, we did a 2 second interval Making Tens drill! The students are getting fast with these key addition facts. Next, we marked the addition problems and I collected the Word Problems in to look them over; some students did not complete these for homework.
In the afternoon, we walked to the Visual Arts Centre to see the 5 X 5 display as well as the shows in the side galleries. All was awesome! Students chose their three favourite pieces, sketched a quick drawing, then explained what drew them to these pieces. I collected several booklets but not everyone handed theirs in. Their effort will be assessed so it's important to submit all assignments.
Many thanks to Wyatt's grandma, Byron's mom, and Miya's mom and dad for helping out on this field trip!
Italian Prune Plums were given to each class as part of the BC Health & Nutrition program.
Enjoy your weekend!
