The kids worked hard today. Before recess they focused on a math diagnostic to help me know on which skills/ areas I need to focus. We will finish these off tomorrow.
After recess, we worked on the Greek & Latin Roots Unit 2 package; most students completed them and handed them in. If not, these are to be finished for homework and submitted tomorrow. I am getting the sense that the students are starting to notice parts of words, think about meanings, and make connections to similar words. Their vocabulary is expanding!
We will have a test on these next week, perhaps Tuesday or Wednesday.
In P.E., we did some guarding for basketball and practiced shooting hoops.
We finished our day working on the personal coat of arms project. On Tuesday, they looked at Gov. Gen. Julie Payette's coat of arms and the meanings embedded in it. [See my blog a couple of days ago for the CBC link.] It's quite fascinating and very lovely. The kids will be presenting theirs, explaining their own designs.
Assembly tomorrow morning.
PAC Fundraiser went home today... look for the Tupperware pamphlet.
Enjoy your evening. One more day to go before the long weekend!
