Good day, folks.  Here's our day:

We started with math this morning, marking the perimeter worksheet from yesterday and reviewing aspects of geometry, including the names of polygons. [See below.]

Mr. Redding took them to PE today for 30 minutes before recess.

After recess, we created "Halloween Inchies", including Frankie, a pumpkin patch, and a monster.  A couple more and we will be ready to mount them together.  I'll post photos then.

After lunch we looked at a couple more Immigration Projects from past students.  Remember, these are due November 6th; presentations begin that week!  Look back through these posts to see the write-up if you don't have the original outline and assessment.  I showed the kids today where this information is on this blog.

Next, Mrs. Stewardson, the Indigenous support worker, joined our class while we learned about / revisited the Medicine Wheel.  We watched a short segment of the TV show Heartland where Victor, a Cree, explained the Medicine Wheel to Amy.  Then we talked about and wrote down various aspects of the colours and circle.  We cut the line between yellow and red, then mended the circle while binding it together with brown yarn.  Ask your child what all of this means, please.
These are the ones that have been completed.

Reminders:
School photos on Thursday!
Tupperware Fundraiser orders are due back Oct. 25th.
