Hi Folks.  Sorry for the late post, and nothing yesterday.  I was busy colouring backdrops, making horses, and building a cactus for the play.

Today started with a run-through of lines (for the play) in the gym.  Then back to the class for Christmas Around the World - a look at India's traditions.  These packages stay at school but will be sent home at Christmas time so that you can have a look through.

In math, after the usual drill and graphing of results, we marked the Fact Families.  Then revisited the Hooray for Arrays, determining Factor Pairs, List of Factors (rainbow style), and drawing arrays to depict the factor pairs.

Next, students were introduced to the Distributive Property of Multiplying - basically saying that you can break an array down into two smaller arrays and that their products would add up to the product of the large (original) array.  This was confusing for the kids but we will continue playing with this concept.

We did not get to French today, and Joyeux Noël.

After lunch, the students practiced their lines and song some more with Mr. Redding.

Then chairs were stacked and we headed to Library with Mrs. Tomm. She told the kids about Battle of the Books and the books to be read if students are to participate in April.  Next, she introduced them to a new assignment: "All about  _________ (themselves)".  They will continue this next Wednesday.

SPECIAL EVENT / REMINDER TOMORROW: CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR! We go at 10:30 so no time to get money at lunch time.
