Good day, all. Thanks for the yummy muffins this morning, Kally's mom!
We started our rather crazy day off working on our ugly sticks with Mr. Redding. Today's focus was pounding a hole in the can and screwing it onto the end of our stick. Students also chose a rubber boot to put on the other end but we didn't get to screwing them on yet.
We marked the Greek & Latin Roots Unit 5 package today (many had not completed theirs for homework as assigned) in preparation for the spelling / vocabulary quiz Thursday.
After recess we had impromptu silent reading in an attempt to calm down the students, then did a pop quiz about factors and arrays (two numbers: 18 and 24).
Next, students emptied their Drills That Thrill duotang and added new practice sheets and set up a new bar graph. We will be using this for the next few weeks to monitor our progress with learning multiplication facts.
Then we went to PE and rallied with badminton for a while, just to see where the kids' skill level is.
After lunch we reviewed what a wolf needs to survive in its environment. This was a Think-Pair-Share activity. Next, we did some directed drawings of wolves.
And that was our day.
Coming up....
Hot lunch Wednesday.
U5 Quiz Thursday.
Drama presentation at RSS tomorrow morning!
