Good evening, all. I'm a bit late with the post today... sorry.
The kids started their day off in Music class with Mr. Redding.
Back with me, we worked on 'Sentence Development'. The example on the board involved identifying grammar names while expanding a simple sentence to one much more interesting. The students did the same, step by step, sharing as we went.
At times, we also stopped to address how to hold a pencil properly, how to form "attic" and "basement" letters, and when to use upper case letters.
It looks straight forward enough but it wasn't too easy for some, and most of the students enjoyed the activity.
The math quiz from last week was returned. I went over a couple of things but no questions were asked about the quiz. The Arctic Lowlands Quiz was also returned. Some time was given for students to make corrections by looking in their information package. [This was also asked of them for the Canadian Shield, if you recall, but I did not see many corrections.]
Next, we watched some videos about the Hudson Bay Lowlands, including the effect of climate change on polar bears.
We ended our day with students working on their foil sculptures for French (many students were away Friday when we did this) and book exchange.
BBC "Ice skating" polar bears *This video will lead into three others that we watched today.
