We started off our morning checking on our understanding of pronouns. After some discussion and examples on the board, the students worked on a four-page package identifying pronouns and replacing them in various pieces of writing. Quite a lot of class
time was allowed for this; it is due tomorrow.
Mr. Redding took the class for PE during which time they participated in the school run. These will take place every Tuesday and Thursday until sports day, as practice for the 800 m run. Students challenge themselves by trying to beat their own time.
In math, we first went over the money Holes-themed word problems. Then we quickly marked the fractions worksheets from yesterday. This was mostly review for the students. For some, the concept of adding or subtracting fractions only when their denominators (bottoms) are the same is new.
In Social Studies, the students had been asked to use their information package to make corrections on their Arctic Lowlands quiz. I took these in and redistributed them for re-marking. I have collected them and will record the new scores as a bonus for those students who make their corrections.
Next, we reviewed the Hudson Bay Lowlands package in preparation of the quiz on this geographical region on Thursday.
Finally, students finished up their French sculptures.
