It doesn't look like much but we were busy! Here's our day:
The first thing t.hat we did this morning was go over the Making References activities about various Olympics facts. Several students had not completed this as homework so did not benefit as much from the marking / review.
Next, we started to learn about how mountains are created. We continue to develop our highlighting skills, picking out important information and making notes on our papers.
We played a tag game in PE today before recess.
After recess, we marked / reviewed the Rounding Decimals package. This involved rounding decimals to the nearest tenth and hundredth. The kids are getting really good at it and are feeling confident.
Once this was done, students wrote the Canadian Shield Quiz and filled in their Agendas. *Some students are taking turns checking that the agendas are done so I haven't been signing them.
After lunch, we had a French presentation, then started a new art project about lighthouses. This is in keeping with our Canadian geographical regions focus.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Tomorrow and Thursday are early dismissal days! Students do not get a lunch and go home at 12:30. Student-led conferences start at 1:00 until 5:00. If you have not signed up for a time, please contact the office. 250-837-4744
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow or the next day!
