Good day, folks!

Today was early dismissal (12:30) to accommodate 'student-led conferences' and tomorrow is the same.  I see many signed up already; I hope that everyone will be able to make it in.  If not, please suggest a preferred time.

As a student said as he came into class this morning, "For a short day, it sure looks long."

Much of the busy board included finishing up and checklists to keep students on track.

First thing, we went over what the student-led conferences would look like: what the students were to show their folks.

After Agendas, they started writing their letter to their parents and filed it in their Reflective Journal duotang.

Next, they glued their lighthouses onto their backgrounds and added light beams. Most of these are up in the hallway now and are looking very bright!

Although we didn't actually do a math drill today, students were to make sure that their double-bar graphs all up to date.

After recess, we continued reading the "Mountains" article, highlighting and making notes in the margins as necessary. To emphasize the importance of this, we go back and read just the highlighted parts.  Students then completed the package questions on their own.  They are to show you this at student-leds, and explain how the four types of mountains are formed.

A few students worked with Mrs. Tomm to add a background picture to their legend re-telling; another two filmed their legend.

We also slipped in fifteen minutes of time with Mr. Redding at the end of the day.

TOMORROW IS JERSEY DAY in recognition of the Broncos from Humboldt, Saskatchewan.
