Good afternoon, all.   Here's our day:

Ella keeping an eye on things!

We started our morning with the descriptive writing piece from last week.  Several students switched their topic and wrote about their weekend - the focus still being the same: to be descriptive in one's explanation / story telling.

Next, we started to learn about the Interior Plains, another geographical region.  Because time is running short, we will do an open-book quiz on Friday, demonstrating that students can locate and pick out important information in an article. This also takes any "quiz writing" pressure!

We had a special guest artist in again, today to guide students with their watercolour painting and sturgeon artwork.  We did not finish them; the outlines of the sturgeon are present but these will be finished next Tuesday.  Students did paint the sand and rocks on the bottom of "the lake", and added water around the sturgeon outline.
Guest artist, Mrs. Duncan, directs the watercolour painting lesson.

REMEMBER: SPORTS DAY TOMORROW!  Wear a hat, sunscreen, dress with layers, wear good shoes, bring a water bottle!

This afternoon, we reviewed the different ways to compare fractions and two pages of practice were assigned for Thursday.  [See Friday's post for a video link and summary of ways to compare fractions.]

Last thing today, students continued their independent studies about the human body; I tested several more students.
