Hello, folks.  Another very productive day with the super Variety Show in the afternoon.

We started off learning O Canada in French.  We sang it through several times and will continue this practice in the days to come to reinforce it.

Next, we reviewed equivalent fractions and then practiced creating them on a sheet of grid paper.  We will have a short 'snap shot' quiz tomorrow to see how this is going independently.

After recess, we discussed and explored the Core Competencies: What are they and how do they fit into our education program?  We looked specifically the Communication core competencies, reading through a variety of "I can..." statements and making connections to things that we have done this year.  We completed one (sort of together) for Communication, and will do some more later.  The kids will get used to these self-reflections and self-assessments as they go through the school system from here on in.  Overall, the students were quite engaged in this process today, although it was a lot of sitting and focussing.

We had to continue the above after lunch break so did not have time to work on the geographical regions projects as planned today.

The variety show started later than the above-stated time and we ran over.  The performances were wonderful; I have included pictures here.  I am also trying to upload some short videos but my phone died so will have to finish that part tonight.  A HUGE THANK YOU TO MR. REDDING AND MRS. STRANGE FOR ORGANIZING THIS!  TONIGHT'S SHOW STARTS AT 6:00!

*TODAY WAS THE LAST DAY FOR TESTING on the human body systems. Two students stayed in at lunch to test; others did not.
