Happy Hallowe'en! Thursday, October 31, 2019

Happy Hallowe'en, everyone! Here's how our day looked:

Mr. Shearing took our class photo first thing this morning!

Amazing costumes!!  Such creativity! [See below for more photos of costumes.]

After warming up to "This is Hallowe'en", the students watched the NFB vignette: The Log Driver's Waltz.  (link below)
We also discussed how this relates to Canada's history.

Next, the students completed Key Details Thursday, a short activity using the 5 W's and 1 H question words.

Then it was time for P.E.

Following recess, we did our daily addition drills, graphed today's results, reviewed yesterday's assignment, and completed a quick review of addition and subtraction fact families, as these are inverse operations.

*IMPORTANT:  Students have been given a tally sheet for counting their Hallowe'en candy!  Please help them with this, as needed.  They will need to bring this sheet to school on Monday for a graphing activity!  Please help them not to forget this important data sheet.

We also had some time for Mathletics!

During lunch, the Magic School Bus was available for touring!

After lunch, we held the school-wide Hallowe'en parade, followed by a dance!!
