Greetings!  Here's what our day looked like:

Today we read about Thomas Edison and his invention: The Light Bulb.  This tied in beautifully with our science focus on energy.  As a whole class we practiced identifying and highlighting important parts of the article; students practiced responding to the questions in complete sentences.

During math, we reviewed yesterday's money problems, completed some information on a graph, and got started on Mathletics!  The kids were delighted because they went onto Mathletics, an online math program, to practice various tasks related to patterns.  They have their codes in the "Plangendas" so can get onto Mathletics from home.  My focus with this program is on the lessons to provide lots of fun practice to further develop their skills, not just to play games.  I did give them five minutes to do the latter, however:)

This afternoon, we reviewed the ten types of Energy that we have been studying, before taking the online BC Hydro quiz.  Our class, the RevyHydroKids, earned 14/14 points today!!  The students also added notes to their Science notebooks.
