First thing this morning we did a directed drawing for the latest memorial Canadian coin. A picture of it is with our art display below. Then, we continued finishing our Remembrance Day art work.
The kids went off to P.E., with Mr. Cadegan, then outside for recess, and back in for Math! After another addition drill and checking over our column addition practice from yesterday, the students started a 'Computational Fluency Assessment' to further guide my teaching. I will be able to see
which areas need to be our greatest focus.
After lunch, "Plangendas" and some catch-up / silent reading time, students were introduced to ReadWorks. They have the class code and password to enable them to access the articles and stories from home. Briefly, it is an online site which provides a variety of articles at different grade levels and about all sorts of topics. I have my class set up, I choose which articles I wish them to read (audio is available), and can check on how they answered the follow-up multiple choice and short-answer questions. A report of their progress can also be printed off. The kids really liked it today, so hopefully we can do it on a more regular basis.
That's it!
