Good afternoon!  This is a quick look at our day before I head off to a meeting.

We started off looking at some new Greek and Latin roots: fac, rupt, ast, geo, and morph.  We will focus more on vocabulary with these for the quiz on Friday; matching meaning to root is an important focus.  Today we went through the package together, including the crossword.

Following that, we had a brief amount of time to find India on the world map, and to answer the direction questions.  Tomorrow we will continue reading and identifying facts of interest.

After recess, we spent a lot of time working on estimating, first reviewing rounding and looking at what "the highest common place value" means.
After lunch, we held a whole school Assembly.
Then we reviewed states of matter, and key vocabulary related to the creation of some landforms.  This final activity was cut short so we will continue it tomorrow.

Please note that skiing for the Grade 3's is postponed; no skiing tomorrow due to the weather!
