Happy Marvelous Monday!
We had another very busy day of learning. We began a recording sheet to help us with elapsed time. Today we filled it out together but gradually students will be able to fill in their own personal time sheet. (I'll post a copy at the bottom of this post.)
I first showed the children a video and story about Nicholas Winton. Click here for the video and New York Times story.
https://youtu.be/PKkgO06bAZkStudents were also introduced to Personification today. We did a couple of worksheets and they started to create their own on their snow globe. I showed them my sample today so they are quite excited to get these done.
In Math, we started new multiplication drills: 2 minutes; (0 - 12 X 12) They created a line graph on which to record their results.
Next, we started to colour multiples in our Multiplication Book to match the colours on our Kim Sutton Number Line. We are looking for patterns on a hundreds chart, learning more about digital roots, as well as learning strategies for determining multiples.
