Happy Friday! One more week before Spring Break and we're all feeling it:)
We had a very productive day. Here's a bit about what we did:
In Language Arts we marked a VERBS sheet from a couple of days ago, and then did one where students had to write the past tense of the verb in each sentence. We also read the story King Ing's Fling which reminded us of the three ways to add the suffix -ing to verbs (no change - just add; double the consonant; drop the silent e and add -ed). We have fun learning while reading these little stories! In addition to all this, we started a worksheet practicing using Proper and common nouns.
During Math, students practiced the 9X strategy that we learned yesterday. The trick is that the sum of the digits in the product always add up to 9! 2 x 9 = 18; 4 x 9 = 36.
We finally added some notes to our Multiplication - Various Methods page in our Interactive Notebook.
In the afternoon, we continued learning about landforms, focusing on vocabulary for bodies of water. Students identified some close-ups on a map of Canada.
