FIELD TRIP LETTER Sept. 18

September 18, 2015

Re: Multiculturalism Tour Unplugged

Dear Parents / Guardians,

I thought of a few things in the night:

Small fee:  I mentioned this first item on my blog but not all parents may read it.  A bus and driver have had to be chartered for us, thus the cost of the trip is more than anticipated.  We are asking parents to contribute $20 to help cover costs.  You can send this Monday or when we get back.  Thank you.

Food contributions:  Mrs. McQuarrie will be phoning parents over the weekend to confirm what food items you will be sending along.  My priority is to have healthy foods only, so vegetables, fruit, cheese slices, muffins, cookies et cetera would be wonderfully appreciated.  Remember to pack a large lunch for Tuesday; some snacks will also be provided.  The pizza for dinner will be provided as part of the cost.

Phone Tree:  Mrs. McQuarrie will also lead our Phone Tree.  She will have the class’s phone numbers and will start a phoning tree should it be necessary to contact you due to a missed ferry and a late arrival, for example.

Tuesday morning: It will be imperative that we leave by 8:45 in order to get the 10:00 ferry; the 9:00 was a ‘dangerous cargo’ one so traffic could be backed up.  Therefore, you child needs to be at school by 8:15 so we can pack the coolers and all the kids’ gear.

Travel sickness:  I have asked the children to not wear any scents during our trip.  For those of us who don’t travel well, this can set us off.  Thank you!  By the way, you can buy travel bands at the Pharmacy.  These help a bit, but you may not want to rely on them completely.

I hope I haven’t forgotten anything.  Have a super weekend.

Ms. Sue Leach
