Greetings on this last day of September!
Monday and Tuesday, I attended a Mental Health First Aid workshop. It was very interesting and valuable. I'd be happy to talk with anyone who may be interested in hearing more about the workshop.
Our school day was a busy one, and seemed very full.
We started off with a Exploring Numbers Quiz in math. This was an overview of what we have been studying these past several weeks.
Following math, we reviewed the format for a friendly letter. After recess, students wrote their letter to their pen pal at Twin Rivers Elementary in Castlegar; most students finished their good copies.
We will be sending several letters back and forth, developing our writing skills while making new friends. It will make it that more fun when the Castlegar students hopefully come to Revelstoke in the spring.
After lunch, we had the school's Terry Fox Run. Following the run, we regrouped in the classroom and I read some more of Girl #85: A Doukhobor Childhood. The kids are really listening well, and hopefully gleaning a lot from hearing about the author's experiences.
