Library: Today students completed two Learning Styles inventories, and reflected on their learning needs. Ask your child about his/her preferred learning style(s) and how they take in new information. *We also learned that we remember...
10% of what we READ
20% of what we HEAR
30% of what we SEE
50% of what we SEE and HEAR
70% of what is DISCUSSED with OTHERS
80% of what is EXPERIENCED PERSONALLY
95% of what we TEACH TO SOMEONE ELSE
You can see how valuable it is to discuss what your child is learning, and to have them teach you.
Government - With the upcoming election, we started talking about parties, leaders, what government does for us, and more. We will be looking at our electoral district, who is running, what each party stands for, the responsibilities of government, et al. Please talk about this at home, not just your opinions but facts.
Math - Exploring Numbers Quiz was returned today; please sign it to indicate that you have seen it.
We reviewed Rounding some more today; the first two columns of three pages was assigned.
Also assigned for homework was a page on Comparing Numbers, and a couple of pages of adding columns of numbers / cards. It looks like a lot but the kids worked hard on this and many managed to finish during class. Please ensure that what was assigned is completed for tomorrow. (They wrote on their sheets what needed to be done.)
PE - We had a BC Volleyball coach lead the class in various drills today, demonstrating proper techniques for bumping, setting, and overhand serving. It was short, fast, and super fun!
