It's actually Saturday morning as I write this... got a little busy and simply forgot.
We had an exciting Assembly yesterday, with tarts being thrown at grade 6/7 students! That was a result of the school's promise surrounding Terry Fox fundraising. Isaac Starling also won the Terry Fox T-Shirt. From our class, Rhenna and Ryan received recognition awards.
Following Assembly was book exchange and silent reading.
Once again, we didn't get much math done. (We were marking our Intro to Fractions pkg.) But, they went to music and Mr. Roger's fetched me so that I could hear the students sing the Huron Carol while playing their ukeleles, changing chords and all! It was wonderful!
We cleaned out our desks and organized our Working Binders. This took four times as long as I had anticipated but our room seems lighter:)
I continued the review of the Report Card template, and students got to see their report card. These, of course, were sent home at the end of the day.
We also laid out the jobs for the Movie Night for those students who were able to attend. It was a great success with 63 students (not including grade fives) attending; we made $315 toward our trip to New Denver and Castlegar earlier in September.
Many thanks to the parents who stayed behind and got the gym cleaned up. Also to Senna, Charley, and Halle who stayed after school and did the set up with me. I couldn't have done it without them.
Have a super weekend!
