Another fabulous day today!  I am so impressed with the Mining Project presentations thus far:) Today's presentations were all Power Point: Jaclyn and Josie showed theirs (with video links) about the Britannia Mine, Levi showed his about the Bralorne Mine, and Micah showed his about the Fording River Coal mine.  Well done, all of you!

* I am not able to add a Power Point to this page, sorry!

In math this morning we started with Scoot, moving from card to card and answering various multiplication-related questions.  After that, the kids were assigned two pages of metric conversions, and a homework assignment that is due Friday.  For the latter, they are to look in their cupboards, refrigerator, bathroom, et cetera, and write down items and their measurements (mass or capacity).  I have also asked them to bring in clean, empty containers so that we can have them around the room and become better acquainted with various measurements.

This afternoon, Mrs. Vickers was in for Beyond Recycling.  Today the kids played a game called Fishing for Sustainability.  They had a good time and I am increasingly impressed with the thought that some students are putting into their participation.

Have a good evening!
