We had another wonderful day of presentations!  I am so pleased with their projects:)
Today, we had Power Point presentations by Ryan (The Giant Mine, NT), Katy (Springhill Coal Field, NS), and Aedan (Trout Lake molybdenum mine), and Halle & Senna who created a diorama about Blue Hawk Mine outside of Kelowna.

*Evan and Justin had an iMovie (role play) to show us, but we were experiencing technical difficulties.  Hopefully we will be able to view it tomorrow.

Reading Comprehension - We finally got to "Talking Leaves" today, an article about the development of the Cherokee language by a man named Sequoyah.  Students are learning how to answer questions fully and thoroughly, drawing from the article to support their answers, and editing their own work. They will appreciate developing this valuable skill, and it will get easier and easier as they develop their skills.

In Language Arts, we also added notes about the four types of sentences to our Interactive Notebooks: Declarative, Imperative, Interrogative, Exclamatory.  Ask your child which is which:)

In math, we marked pp 21-22, and worked on 85-86; we are continuing to strengthen our metric conversion skills.

Have a wonderful night, even if the Toronto Blue Jays aren't playing tonight:(
