After the Prime Minister's announcement Monday that he would apologize on behalf of Canada for the Komagata Maru incident over a hundred years ago, we took a look at the issue and discussions past and present. Here are some links to news clips and videos explaining the Komagata Maru situation. After viewing the videos and reading some of the comments, students wrote their views / opinions in their Journal.

Earlier today, we made notes about writing proper sentences in our Interactive Notebooks. These included 'sentences', 'fragments', and 'run-ons'.
Three Cheers for Ears! was assigned today for reading comprehension and written response writing skill development. This is due Friday.
Most students finished their pulp birds today... now they have to dry before we can paint them next week. Some students also tried making bowls, so we'll see they work out.
Lastly, students had a practice math quiz to work on; their real quiz is tomorrow.
