Wednesday, April 27, 2016.

Happy Wednesday!
We started our morning singing along with the Bazillions as they performed "Preposition" (see yesterday's link).  We then added "on the shelf" and a short exercise to our Interactive Notebooks.

Then it was off to P.E.  The nets were up so we played a couple of games (9 players aside), and finished with some serving practice.  The students are improving and actually returning the ball from time to time.  Volleyball is a difficult game, in many aspects, so I am very proud of the students and their progress.  We got extra time in gym because the class following us didn't come to the gym!

After recess, we worked on our pulp birds and bowls.  Students are at different stages with this project: some added pulp, some painted, while others drilled holes and 'Mod Podged'.  (Is that a verb?)  We did this until lunch time, actually, so hopefully one more class and all of our birds will be in our tree.

After lunch, we marked the Math Antics perimeter packages from yesterday by switching papers randomly.  Once this was done, we watched a couple of videos.  The first is a song by the Bazillions about Area and Perimeter. (link below)
"Perimeter and Area" by the Bazillions - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qU8aWpRd6Qw

The second was an explanation of what area is, and how to calculate it. (link below)   http://mathantics.com/index.php/section/lesson/Area

The third was a video whereby Rob from Math Antics walked us step by step through a series of problems.  The students followed along and wrote down the steps.  (link below)

*No homework was assigned today; we will continue working on area tomorrow.

At the end of the day, we sang l'alphabet en Français and played Debout les 7 using students' initials.
And that, my friends, was our day:)
