Merry Monday!
First thing this morning, I sprang a "what do you really know about long division" quiz on the students. These types of pop quizzes are really important because they give me a true sense of what each student understands. The quizzes will show me any misunderstandings or flaws in strategies that the students may have, so we can clear them up before going on.
Students worked on their Morrisseau art or their Independent Novel Study projects when done.
After recess, we went outside to practice long jump. The school sports day is this Friday!
Then we came in for science and to work on the Human Body units. I also did some testing.
Our school P.A.C., provided free tacos, a juice box, and a cookie for each student today. Thank you, P.A.C., that was very generous!
After music today, we had Language Arts. We reviewed together the adverb (pink) worksheet together, read the beginning paragraphs / pages of some stories to see how authors intrigue their readers, then cut out some story vocabulary pieces for our Interactive Notebooks. We will add notes to these tomorrow.
Special Event: A notice was sent home today about an upcoming field trip to the Visual Arts Centre on Thursday from 12:40 - 2:20. Look for it! It's orange:) I need one more parent volunteer, please, if you can make it.
Enjoy your evening!
