What an exciting day! I'll start with the end of our day... we were marking / reviewing our division math package when Justin and Sawyer noticed lots of bees outside the window. It was incredible. I immediately went to Ms. Pattison's grade 3/4 room next door to tell her about the bees. They were swarming! That's when things get too full at the hive so the queen takes half the crew and move to a new hive. We got to see this magical moment, and it ended our math class!
After all that excitement (How do you compete?) we started planning our stories for our Little Buddies. The students have a diagram to help them outline their story; it has definitions / reminders on the reverse side.
First thing this morning we went swimming for the fourth and final time. Once back at school, the kids brought their snacks into the class, ate, and got caught up on some unfinished work. This is also a nice social time for the kids, while they learn to keep themselves focused.
So, the best laid plans of mice and men ...
That was our day. I believe it was much more productive than it looks like here:)
