Hello! We had another great day... here's what we did.
The students gave their oral presentations using their string of beads. They did a great job, too, telling us their story. The other students practiced being a good audience: looking at the speaker and listening intently, then asking appropriate questions or complimenting the speaker. We should finish the remaining eleven presentations tomorrow. *We did this in the morning, and again in the afternoon.
Career Education- We looked at goal-setting and learned an acronym for SMART goal setting.
The photo is a picture of what the kids had to write in their duotang. We will continue this tomorrow, so look for the second part of our chart. Goal-setting will be a big focus for us this year; it is also a big part of the revised curriculum and is a valuable life-skill.
In math, we learned and practiced a trick to finding the digital root of a number: remove groups of 9. We used decks of cards to practice this. *If nothing is left after all nines are removed, the digital root is 9.
FIRE DRILL - We had our first fire drill today, and I must say that the kids were super, taking it very seriously and behaving responsibly.
**The verification forms went home today. Please look these over and make changes / additions, and return them a.s.a.p. so that we have up to date information about your child.
Thursday is also the day that Mr. Pfeiffer takes the kids for P.E. while I get some prep time. They went outside; I don't know what they did but they came back tired:)
Enjoy your evening and this lovely weather!
