Good day, everyone.

We started our morning reading The Right Word, a book about Roget Thesaurus and how the thesaurus came to be.

We then worked on the Vancouver Island math diagnostics.  Most students finished it up today; others will finish throughout the week.

After recess, I read another story to the kids: Little Bear's Vision Quest.  We discussed Little Bear's experience and how his behaviour changed.  We also discussed how First Nations stories told lessons, and talked about the lesson in this story.

Students made journal entries about a time they learned a lesson, or a time when they experienced a change of heart/ behaviour/ thought.  

After lunch, we played Benchball in P.E., then did a variety of things: agendas, library book exchange, checked desks for correct height, and worked on our names.
