Friday January 27, 2017 / C'est vendredi le 27, janvier 2017 EXPLORATION ART HERE TOO!

Hello, Folks!  Today we were back to a regular schedule.  A big thank you to the PAC who provided the $2 Chinese lunch in honour of the Chinese New Year: The Year of the Rooster!

Here's what we did today:

We started off with Buddy Reading this morning, until 9:00.  Today was also 'dress as your favourite book character day' ... check out the photos of some really creative costumes.

 

 


Next, students worked on putting their Literary Devices snow globes together.  Some students have finished; these are now due.

 

After recess, we went to P.E., where we played Bench Ball, then back to class for math (word problems and t-tables).  A reminder that the rewrite is scheduled for Monday.

After lunch, Exploration Friday took place, students participating in either art, drama, or technology.

In Exploration Art, we did "blind contour line drawings" (not looking at what you're drawing and not lifting your pencil!), and some crayon resist feathers.

 

 

There are some great hands!

              The wax crayon resist feathers are all so different.  Students did a directed drawing for the feathers (except placement), then own choice of crayon and paint colours.  I love the results!
