Happy February 1st!

We had a very productive day today.  Here's out it played out:

We started the morning with the Literary Devices Quiz (40 multiple choice questions), then students worked on their ABC salmon books when done.

Just before recess we had some time to revisit the Salmon Life Cycle Song!  We sang through it a couple of times, with a focus on learning the first stanza by heart.

After recess we played badminton; some students are still getting the hang of scoring and serving rotation.
Then back to the class to clean out our Working Binders, cubbies, fill in Agendas, and work on the felted quilt squares for a bit.  They are looking beautiful!  No photos yet:)  You have to wait.

After lunch we had math.  We looked at the patterns with X5; the students finished a practice sheet.  Next, the students did a 3 minute timed multiplication (all multiples to 10x10).  After marking, they set up a line graph on which to record their scores.  Amazingly, some students even doubled their results from yesterday's baseline!

Following that, we looked at demonstrating multiplication using arrays.  Students were assigned three pages of the four in the package to complete for tomorrow, when we will revisit fact families.  This is a review for most students and is intended to build confidence as we proceed with multiplication and division facts.

That took us to the end of the day!  Enjoy your evening. Sorry no photos for the last couple of days.

TONIGHT! Floor hockey from 6:00 - 7:00 in the CPE gym.  Free fun!
